NOTD: ELF nailpolish in 'Gum Pink'

Hey guys! Today I have my second 'nail of the day' and this time my nails are wearing another ELF nailpolish but this time in Gum Pink! You can buy it here from ELF's website.

This is a hot pink colour which isn't to sheer which is good!

I used three coats of it to get this colour, also a top coat to stop it chipping. As you can see from some of the pictures it has started to chip and I only painted them Monday night! (Its now Tuesday afternoon). But you can't really complain the nailpolish was only £1.50!

What are your nails wearing?

January 2012 Favourites!

Hey guys! Today I will be doing my January favourites of 2012! Sorry this post is a little late I've been a little busy! Anyway lets begin...

The first product is this MUA (Makeup Academy) lipstick in shade 16. You can get this lipstick either from Superdrug stores or on MUA's website!

This lipstick retails for a mere £1! Amazing! Your getting 3.8g of decent product, which is amazing for £1. But as it is only a pound, the quality/pigmentation won't be to the standards of something like MAC. But, for a pound you can't really complain.

This colour is a very nice coral with some red undertones in it. It is quite sheer once applied onto the lip but it is very moisturising and you don't need to place lipbalm before applying this! Overall a great product.

Next is this eyeshadow by No7. I got this in a gift set around Christmas time so I'm unsure how much this cost or if you can still get it sorry.

This eyeshadow is in the shade '69 Starry Lights'.

This eyeshadow is very pigmented! One swipe with your brush/finger into the shadow gives you a nice full colour. This eyeshadow can be used as a highlighter, base or just a simple all over the lid look. Its a creamy/shimmery colour with some sparkles in but nothing too noticeable.

Now moving onto foundation. My favourite foundation this month is Maybelline's Dream Matte Mousse. Mine is in the shade '010 Ivory'. This retails for £7.69 from Boots

I really like this foundation, It doesn't give full coverage but a good medium amount. It blends really easily by just using your finger too. If you pile to much of it on it can feel really cakey on your skin. A bad thing about this foundation it picks up dry skin very easily. So if you have try skin try and stay clear of this as it just makes it more noticeable!

The penultimate product for my January favourites is Natural Collection's Lash curl mascara. Mine is in the shade 'Black'. This product retails for £1.99 from Boots!

This mascara gives a good job of giving nice defined lashes, also it doesn't create a lot of clumps which is good! You do need to apply quite a lot though to get a really dramatic effect. But as this is only £1.99 you can't expect too much.

 Well thanks for reading!

NOTD: ELF Nailpolish in 'Nude'.

Hey guys, Today I have my first nail of the day post! For the past week or so I have been wearing ELF's nailpolish in Nude. This nailpolish is a bargain for just £1.50 from the ELF website. This colour is quite opaque so you do need around 2-3 coats to get the full colour from it.

Anyway, Enjoy!

ELF Haul!

Hey guys today I have my first EVER ELF haul for you! I have never ordered from ELF in the past but they recently had a offer on around 2 weekends ago. The offer was if you spent over £10, You got free shipping and a free mystery bag. The mystery bag had a value of £9. Amazing deal ELF! So I snapped up the chance of this amazing offer and ordered. The free delivery was the 'Standard delivery' option, and I was surprised at how quick it was. I ordered Saturday morning and it arrived at my house by 9AM Tuesday (31st Jan)! Anyway lets begin!

My lovely goodies!

What was in my mystery bag?
The mystery bag had a value of £9 and I received 4 items! I was so shocked! Thankyou ELF!

First in my mystery bag I got a 'Travel Mirror'. This mirror is from ELF's 'Gem tools' collection. The mirror retails for £2.50 and you can get it here.

One side of the mirror is magnified (The right) and the other is normal! This mirror is very compact and a great size for keeping either in a bag or school blazer!

The second item is the 'Shimmer Eyeliner Pencil' in Plum Passion. This retails for £1.50 (Now just £1 while on  offer!) On the website. Buy it here.

A swatch of this gorgeous shimmery colour!

I'm not normally a person to wear eyeliner, especially a purple shade! I have tested this out and the consistency is amazing! Its so creamy and glides over the lid/waterline very easily. Also as you can tell by the swatch it is very pigmented!

Bonus! Also comes with a sharpener built into the lid!

In the mystery bag I also got two nail polishes! These two shades are so nice, I haven't tried them out yet on my nails but from the bottle I love them!

The first one is in '1570 Metal Madness'.

This is a grey/charcoal shade with hints of silver and some sparkles in. A great nailpolish for parties/night time!

The second one I got from the mystery bag is '1565 Purple Pleaser'.

This colour is a very deep/rich purple. I love it!

Now onto the things I originally brought myself!

First up is a 'Super glossy lip shine with SPF 15'. Mine is in the shade 'Party Peach'. This lipgloss is in the tube form and I love it so far. It doesn't give too much colour on the lips which I like. It is also a very portable size so I love to keep in my school blazer! This product smells amazing too! Its a very sweet smelling scent so it might not appeal to everybody's tastes but I love it.

The lipgloss retails for £1.50 on the website and you can buy it here.

Another product I decided to try out is the Elf Therapeutic Conditioning Balm. Mine is in the shade 'Blackberry  Crème'. This product retails for £1.50 and you can buy it here. This balm is so moisturising for just £1.50! The scent is so nice, I wouldn't say that it smells of blackberry's but it definitely isn't a bad smell.

Like I said it is very moisturising, but it doesn't stay for very long on your lips so you do have to keep re-applying it. Also the balm itself doesn't have a very big surface area. So it doesn't cover all of your lip in one use. This balm leaves no colour on your lips after applying which is good!

I also decided to add the ELF Natural Radiance Blusher to my 'Shopping bag'. This retails for a mere £1.50 and can be purchased here. Mine is in the shade' Innocence'.When I first opened the blusher, I was taken back at how small the packaging was! I always thought from the website picture that it was so much bigger. As it is so small it is a downside to the product for me. I can hardly get my blusher brush in to pick up enough product!

Also what's kind of strange about this product is how you open it. I was there for at least 10 minutes trying to open this. I didn't realise to open it you just needed to slide the tray from underneath!

- Sorry for the bad lighting! -

Here is the swatch, Innocence is a very baby pink shade so great for paler skin tones. (Like me!). But again this isn't very pigmented so you need to get a lot onto your brush.

I have heard such great things about ELF's lipsticks, I just had to try one out! And for only £1.50 I just had to try it! You can buy the product here. Mine is in the shade 'Seductive'. ELF are prone to having their swatches on the site different from the actual product, And here is a example. I picked this colour hoping for a nice pinky shade (Like the website shows) But instead I got a matt off-redish colour.

It does have some hints of pink in but when on your lips its a matt red.

Here is the swatch it prove it. I suppose I'm not too disappointed with this, as it was only £1.50. But dark lipsticks just don't suite my pale complexion!

I also brought two nailpolishes. So in total by the end I had 4! Result! This first one is in '1507 Gum Pink'. You can buy any of the ELF nailpolishes here. (They retail for just £1.50!).

This is a really nice vibrant pink shade, not one for school but I can't wait to try it out!

My final nail polish is in '1503 Nude'. I brought this colour for school as I am allowed to wear pale colours.

Such a nice colour! Can't wait to test it out!

Finally I decided to order two of ELF's professional line brushes. All of the brushes retail for £1.50 and can be brought here. The first brush I decided to get was the foundation brush.

This brush is so soft and feels such good quality! It doesn't seem to be shedding and also the bristles of the brush itself are very long so you cover more of your face faster! Overall I love this for just £1.50!

The second brush I decided to get was the ELF eyeshadow brush. I have heard such great things about this brush I just had to try it out. This again was only £1.50.

This brush doesn't feel as good a quality as the foundation brush and is already starting to shed, But it picks up just the right amount of product you need and covers the lid very well!

Well that's it for my elf haul! I hope you all enjoyed seeing what I brought!

Did you take up this offer? What did you get in your  mystery bag?

Rimmel London Scandal Eyes Mascara Review!

Hey guys today I'm going to be doing a review of Rimmel London's Scandal Eyes mascara. This mascara retails for £6.99 on Boot's website. I received this mascara at Christmas time as a gift from my sister. Ever since I got it I haven't stopped using it! It is now my everyday mascara! Lets begin with the review..

Like all of Rimmel's mascaras the packaging is different and stands out from other brands. The bright orange tube is very eye-catching if you see it in a store.

Mine is in the shade '001 Black'. This is the only shade which is currently available. So if your looking for a brown mascara this won't be for you!

The applicator has a large surface area so it can reach all of your lashes in one stroke. But as you can see by this picture, the consistency of the mascara is very thick and clumpy.

Also a lot of the product collects around the top of the tube. This is a downfall for the mascara personally as I want everything to look clean, not like this!

My eye before I applied the mascara.

After I applied the mascara.

The left eye is wearing the mascara, the right is natural.

Like I mentioned before the mascara is very clumpy. For me to achieve the 'no clump' look I had to go over my eyelashes with a clean mascara wand. I personally hate clumpy mascara's as it doesn't have the natural effect. This mascara does give your lashes some volume and length which I like! This mascara does last all day and I haven't had a day yet where I've had it running down my face or under my eyes!

What do you think of this mascara? Have you tried it yet?
